- 2 chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
- 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup of cream cheese
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package of puff pastry (2 sheets)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Sauté the onion and garlic: In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
- Mix the filling: In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, mozzarella cheese, cream cheese, sautéed onion and garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well incorporated.
- Prepare the pastry: Unroll the puff pastry sheets on a flat surface. Cut each sheet in half, creating two rectangles. Spoon the chicken and cheese mixture into the center of each rectangle.
- Fold and seal: Fold the pastry over the filling to create a pocket. Press the edges with a fork to seal. Cut a few slits on top for ventilation.
- Egg wash: Beat the egg and brush it over the top of the pastry for a golden finish.
- Bake: Place the filled pastries on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
